The Scalar Comet is an illustrated humor magazine publishing poetry, essays, toons, reviews and more! Our goal is to read and publish literature that explores the humor and many absurdities that exist at the fringes of our existence. We welcome musings that transcend the ordinary, reflections that unveil the deeply personal, literature that pushes the boundaries of satire into reality itself.
Submission Period and Guidelines
While submissions are open year round and we publish on a rolling basis, we’ll occasionally have short periods where we review submissions more frequently than usual. Our most up to date submission guidelines and reading period is listed on our Submissions page.

Payments
There are no submission fees for our online publication and submissions are currently unpaid (subject to change soon, hopefully). We will begin paying our contributors once we have reached our Patreon Level 2 goals and will continue to do so as long as we are above that goal level.
Rights
You retain rights to your work after publication. Your published work will be housed in our internet archives in perpetuity, and we may re-post a link to your piece on our social media sites from time-to-time.
We are still developing plans for a monthly or quarterly print issue. For now, we are digital only.
